All classes include the following:
Beginners Lampwork
I find there are two categories of beginners, those that want a day out doing something a little different and those that are intending to take up bead making in the future and want to learn a few basic skills. I can tailor your lesson to suit your individual requirements.
Improvers/Specific Skills in Lampwork
Whether you have only a few hours torch experience or have been lampworking for sometime, I can help you improve your existing skills and develop your knowledge as well as cover a wide range of techniques of your choice including the following:
Taming dots, raking and twisting dots, using silver, encasing, making bracelet beads and getting to grips with presses and bead rollers.
If there is something not listed that you had in mind please contact me to dicuss.
Beads To Jewellery
This class is for those that have no jewellery making experience and have had a beginners lampworking full day with me. You will learn a few basic wire work and assembly skills to turn your own handmade lampwork beads into jewellery. Practice pieces will be made up using silver plated components but your final pieces using your own lampwork (and spacers of mine if needed) will be made using Sterling silver (at an additional £20 per head). The class would be best taken the day after your beginners class but can be taken at a later date if needed.
